The ultimate position would allow me to transfer the accumulation of 20+ years of knowledge and skills in strategic and tactical management gained while working in the Fortune 500 arena to the world of the small to medium size enterprise.
In a nutshell:
Non-Profits
High on the desired list are non-profits - where my passion for excellence in management, and "thinking outside the box" might contribute to- and provide for growth. Within this area - I have a special soft-spot for: education, children, protection land for future use, sustainable growth, architecture, protection of the oceans, fighting poverty, and healthcare.
Start-ups
Second stage start-ups are next on the "highly - desired" list; especially those in the creative media/internet areas. Start-ups are often in need for the transition from the "entrepreneurial" phase to the "governance" phase - that is, the introduction of repeatable business and IT processes. These processes need to come about (everyone knows it - nobody likes it) in order to position the enterprise for growth.
International
Finally on the desired list - is any enterprise that is in need for international growth (particularly Europe). My European background and connections with the Dutch government might contribute handily for such an enterprise.
